You may take the time you spend in the shower or bath as a serious step in your self-care routine like me. It’s just so relaxing to cleanse your body and wash off the day in a hot shower.


As a skincare lover, I believe that your body skincare routine is just as important as your facial skincare routine. Knowing your skin type will help you to pick the best products to add to your body care essentials list to maintain healthy skin.


The typical steps in a body care routine are:

1. Cleansing (daily)

2. Exfoliation (2-3 times a week)

3. Moisturising (daily)

4. SPF (AM routine daily)


All right, let's get into my favorite products and how to create your own body care essentials list for healthy skin!



1. Body wash

Find the right body wash based on your skincare concerns, such as acne or hydration is a must. The brands' Dove and Cetaphil are great brands for various skin types.

I use Olay’s Nourishing Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate and nourish my dry skin. This one is recommended for dry, oily, and combination skin.

2. Body exfoliator

To combat body acne and to get smooth skin, exfoliate your body 2-3 times a week to wash away dead skin and unclog pores.


I use Sanitas Active Body Wash, which is great for all skin types.

3. Body Conditioner

Discovering body conditioners has been a game changer for me! When I want to skip lotion after my shower or want extra moisture, I apply my body conditioner before I hop out the shower.


Apply it the same way as a body wash and then rise it off. This step will help moisturize your skin while you’re in the shower. I use Olay’s Rinse-off Body Conditioner with Shea Butter, which is recommended for normal skin.



4. Lotion

Moisturizers and lotions work best when skin is already hydrated, which is why it's great to apply your lotions after your shower to lock it in and avoid dry skin.

Grab your fluffy robe once you’re done and it’s a must to give yourself the ultimate spa-like feeling at home! Tip: If you have any products you want to try on your face, test them on your body first. Your body is usually less sensitive than your face, so you can test out products more on your body than your skin.
