I don’t usually venture out into Brooklyn as often as I would like to, but I was invited to Baba Cool and I couldn’t resist after checking out their delectable menu. Located steps away from Fort Greene Park and right near the Lafayette Avenue subway station, the cafe is very conveniently located.
On their website, Baba Cool tells visitors their “focus [is] on thoughtful service and genuinely delicious experiences” which is far from an understatement. I’m always down for a happy hour and if you are too then you need to stop by for their daily happy hour specials from 4:30 – 6:30 PM and their daily dinner specials from 5:00 – 9:30 PM.
I enjoyed a glass of Rosé (12.8%) priced at $9 along with a plate of steak frites priced at $17.75 which is made of a 7 oz. hanger steak, sweet plantains, wild arugula. I am not a sweet plantains lover at all but the chef made these very different by adding a touch of cinnamon on top.
For dessert, I couldn’t rest to try the mini warm chia pudding (for the first time ever) priced at $6.5 which is made with bananas, blueberries, coconut flakes, walnuts, cacao nibs, pepita. Check out their full menu here to get a taste of what you would like to try.
Baba Cool is a place where I would go to dive into a good book while waiting for my food, stop by and grab a coffee as I answer emails, and meet up with friends for a quick bite. What I love most is the diverse food menu, many options but not overwhelming, is it a place for everyone, and with their welcoming waitstaff, and beautiful, cozy, space.
