All About My Cancun Trip: 3 Tips For The Best Vacation

Cancun is a popular destination for travelers from all over the world and it's no wonder why! Whether you're looking to relax on the beach, party all night long, or dive in a cenote, Cancun has you covered and has something for everyone.

I was too excited to share all about my trip and help you plan your next couples vacation, a girl's getaway, or a solo trip to Cancun. In this guide, I'll give tips on where to stay and what to do while visiting this Mexican paradise.

So here are 3 tips and more from my Cancun trip that will help you plan your most memorable vacation to date!

Airport Transportation

Since there is no Uber or Lyft in Cancun, I highly recommend booking your transportation before you arrive to make a seamless transport and avoid high fees/scams.

I booked my hotel transportation with Cancun Shuttle and Tours round trip, in which they gave me complimentary water or beer on arrival. My driver was very friendly and on time both times!

Major tip: please do not stop at the stations or talk to anyone when arriving and deprecating Cancun airport; otherwise, you'll be talked into buying excursions or miss your transfer when exiting the airport!

Where to Stay in Cancun

There are two main areas to stay in when visiting Cancun: the Hotel Zone and Downtown Cancun. The Hotel Zone is exactly what it sounds like: a long strip of hotels that line the beach. If you're looking for an all-inclusive resort experience, the Hotel Zone is where you'll want to be and where I made sure to stay for my Cancun trip.

However, Downtown Cancun is the place for you if you're on a budget or looking for a more authentic Mexican experience. There are plenty of great hotels and Airbnbs in Downtown Cancun, and you'll be within walking distance of all the best restaurants and bars. No matter where you stay in Cancun, you'll have a great time.

But if you're looking for a luxurious, all-inclusive stay, I recommend the adults-only Hyatt Zilara. This luxury resort is located right on the beach so you can enjoy stunning views of the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. The resort also offers an infinity pool, spa services, six restaurants to choose from, 24-hour room service, and daily live entertainment. Plus, the rooms are spacious and impeccably decorated. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Fun Activities in Cancun

Cancun is home to some of the best beaches in Mexico. So naturally, one of the best things to do while in town is to relax on the sand and soak up some sun. But if you're looking for something a little more active, there are plenty of options. You can go snorkeling or scuba diving in the crystal clear waters off Isla Mujeres. Or take a tour of ancient Mayan ruins like Chichen Itza or Tulum. You will find it in Cancun no matter what you're looking for!

Booking excursions is effortless! You can use sites like Viator TripAdvisor to book your tours before you visit, or you can wait until you get to the hotel and have their help booking excursions. We booked our excursions with Selvatica at Hyatt Zilara and had the best time on our Offroad adventure!

I wanted to make my Cancun trip memorable, so I booked a photographer. If you love pictures, check out My Flying Dress Cancun for an amazing, unique photoshoot! You can rent a dress in any color and book a shoot for however long you like. It was really a fun shoot, and I would book with Mirella and her team again.

Conclusion- All About My Cancun Trip

There is something for everyone in Cancun, whether you want to explore ancient ruins, float in crystal clear waters, or relax! A trip to Cancun is an excellent choice if you want to explore a place that offers everything. I have no regrets about my Cancun trip, and I'm counting the days until I can return.
